The Essex Journal is a Local History and Archaeology Journal of Essex.  It has been in
continuous publication for 50 years, the first issue having been published January 1966.
Its aim is to provide a forum for the publication of articles on various topics relating to the historic county of Essex.

On this website you can find information on the current issue, past issues as well as
subscribing to the Essex Journal. Additional content is being added all of the time.

The Essex Journal is published twice a year under the management of an Editorial Board consisting of representatives of the Friends of Historic Essex, the Essex Record Office
(on behalf of the Essex County Council), the Essex Society for Archaeology and History
and the Honorary Editor. It is recognised that the statutory duties of the County Council preclude the ERO from sharing in the financial commitments of the consortium.

You can contact the Editor using the form on the Contact page to provide comments and feedback or to submit an article.
